Law Degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2003). Master in Tax Law (LL.M) Instituto de Empresa (2004) With Honors. Socrates-Erasmus grant provided by the European Commission at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (2001) (Brussels, Belgium).

Prior to his incorporation to JB.M.F. Tax Counselors, he worked as an associate lawyer at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira abogados, as a senior associate at Clifford Chance and as partner of the Tax Department of Hernández-Echevarría Abogados.

He has wide experience in corporate tax aspects of domestic or international transactions, indirect taxation, corporate restructuring and all tax aspects of investment funds, from establishing and structuring the fund, debt, finance, investment and exit strategies. In the last years, he has been involved in several M&A and private equity transactions and has been the tax coordinator of the Wealth Management & Private Banking team of Clifford Chance in Spain.

Tax law lecturer at the Practicum of the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas-ICADE in Madrid since 2010 and at the Master in Lawyering of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

The international leading directory Chambers and Partners has named Álvaro in its Chambers Europe Guide 2012 and 2013 as a leading lawyer in tax law.
